Competition Timeline:
1: Enter via the online submission. Deadline is Mar 4, 2024 at 5pm.
2: Mar 4, 2024: Jury convenes and selects 3 shortlisted artworks.
3: Mar 4 - Mar 10, 2024: 3 artworks are up for public vote via social media.
4: Mar 11, 2024: Winning artwork is announced.
5: Week of Mar 18, 2024: Artwork goes into production.
6: Mural unveiling Apr 1, 2024.
Terms & Conditions
Liability
Entrant must be the owner of the submitted artwork and the work submitted must be of entrant’s own origination. Entrant must hold all moral and intellectual property rights in the submitted artwork. The entrant warrants (guarantees) to blue pokē (BP) that they own all the copyrights to their submitted artwork, that the image is original and does not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant agrees to indemnify and hold BP and BP’s owners, management, employees and agents harmless from all claims, demands, actions, suits, proceedings, judgments, awards, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including but not limited to any legal costs or reasonable expenses properly incurred and any compensation, costs and disbursements paid by BP on the advice of BP’s legal advisers to compromise or settle any claim) arising from or in any way related to the mural competition and/or this agreement.
Copyright
Once registered for this competition, all entrants agree that we, BP, may reproduce the winners’ work for purposes of marketing, promotion, discussion and education, in media including catalogues and publications, posters, postcards, mugs, tee-shirts, hats, websites and social media, and may license, under these conditions to others only for the same purposes. BP also reserves the right to reproduce selected images for non–commercial purposes, for example on the the website indefinitely, as a public record.
For any artwork submitted to the competition, entrant is not restricted in selling it, exhibiting it or any similar activity. But we ask you that you notify us if it is sold or changes ownership, or changes in any way.
winner announcement
After the jury selects up to 3 artworks, said artworks are subject to a public vote on social media. The artwork garnering the most votes will painted for displayed in spring 2024. The winner will receive a $500 cash and the paint will be supplied.
By submitting the digital entry form, you accept that if successful in stage 4 the selected artwork must be available in order to proceed to stage 5. Artwork must, if shortlisted for judging, be the same work previously submitted as a digital image and be available for the next stage of judging. No changes to the final artwork will be accepted beyond original submission, but a higher resolution file may be required for printing.
